Tropico 6 More Housing Mod: A Review

I've only recently had the chance to try out the Tropico 6 more housing mod, and I must say it's been a pleasant experience. One thing that did take some getting used to was the need to restart the game after enabling or disabling mods - but this process takes less than five seconds, so it's not a major issue.

Once you log in to mod.io from within the game, your subscribed mods will be synced and you can easily enable or disable them. I found the mod.io UI to be nicer than the Steam Workshop UI, which is a definite plus.

I only had a brief chance to play around with the mod, but I was excited to see some potential ideas that could be included in future updates. For example, a drugs/cartel mod would add an extra layer of complexity to the game, while more building options - such as additional housing models and park choices - would give players even more creative freedom.

I also think it would be great to see mods that allow for houseboat communities to improve space efficiency, or ones that provide plantation options. Additionally, mods that offer pollution cleaning options in Colonial and World Wars, or a work mode for the car factory that produces affordable cars for poor citizens, could add a new level of realism to the game.

One issue I did encounter was navigating the ingame mod menu, which kept switching between my mouse and Xbox One controller. This made it difficult to browse through the available mods. Steam's decision to limit workshop content to Steam users only also didn't help, but mod.io's solution is a welcome change.

In summary, while there may not be any eye-catching mods yet, I'm excited to see what the future holds for Tropico 6 modding. With its user-friendly interface and cross-platform support, mod.io has the potential to revolutionize the way we experience mods in this game.
